Ciao! Mi chiamo Morgan!
I am originally from Charlotte, NC, but currently live in Charleston, SC where I study Hospitality at The College of Charleston. In the summer of 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Sorrento, where I truly fell in love with travel and immersing myself in different cultures. That experience opened my eyes to the value of exploring new perspectives, embracing different ways of life, and creating meaningful memories and connections that last a lifetime.
Favorite Pasta
As difficult as it is to choose a favorite pasta dish, I would have to say that spaghetti alla Nerano holds a special place in my heart. During my internship abroad at a pasta cooking school, it quickly became my favorite dish to both prepare and enjoy. The creamy sauce paired with the rich flavor of the zucchini created the perfect balance, leaving me craving it every time. More than just a meal, it became a dish tied to some of my favorite memories from my time in Italy.
Favorite Italian Word/Phrase
I would have to say that my favorite Italian word is “prego.” What I love most about this is its versatility as it can mean anything from “you’re welcome” to “here you go.” Despite its many uses, each meaning reflects a sense of kindness, warmth, and courtesy that I feel perfectly represents the Italian culture and way of life.
The Best Region of Italy
While I loved every place I had the opportunity to visit in Italy, I have to stay loyal to my home base when studying abroad and say that the Campania region is my favorite, especially since it is home to Sorrento. I was captivated by the colorful coastal town, the beautiful cliffs overlooking the sea, and the cuisine that is so deeply rooted in the region’s culture and traditions.
